South Downs Summer Music International Festival is a predominantly classical music festival which takes place in July each year.

The festival was founded in 2005 and is set in the idyllic village of Alfriston. After performing in the festival many times the Benyounes Quartet became Artistic Directors in 2016 and have since collaborated with musicians including Julian Bliss, Jeremy Young and Philip Higham, and have curated several music and spoken word events, performing alongside Timothy West, Prunella Scales, Jack Farthing and Michael Morpurgo.

The quartet have also created the SDSM Residency generously supported by Harriet Trust in which they invite a young string quartet to rehearse and have masterclasses during the week.
